New Nintendo DSi Sell 600000 Units Within Week
An impressive number, considering that the DSi is not only an upgrade in hardware but also a jump in cost as the system costs $170, compared to the DS Lite’s $130. Nintendo dominates handheld gaming, hands down. The company recently said it has sold more than 100 million of the original Nintendo DS and its follow-on DS Lite since the line was introduced almost five years ago. There’s little evidence momentum is slowing.
Nintendo’s DSiWare only has five games at launch, and none of them are essential. For $2, you can purchase “Master of Illusion Express: Funny Face,” a cheesy magic trick, or “Bird & Beans,” a needless extension of one of the five-second microgames in the “WarioWare” series.
